Help us recognize the historic places associated with New York City’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community and its many diverse groups!

We’re looking for existing sites that date from the city’s founding in the 17th century to the year 2000. These should be sites that are significant to the city’s LGBT history and/or those that reflect the LGBT community’s impact on New York and American history. View list of all historic sites currently included on our website.

Sites include activist demonstration and meeting locations, performance venues, former residences of notable people, works of public art and architecture, medical facilities associated with the AIDS crisis, and important social centers such as community spaces and bars, clubs, and restaurants.

If you’ve done research on a particular subject or have a list of sites that you’d like to send, please submit as a PDF file via email.
